Local golfer Jake Bolton based at Ogbourne Downs Golf Course has received a significant boost in his attempt to qualify for this years’ US Open. Following his appearance for the GB&I Walker Cup team in May he flies to Florida on 2nd June to prepare for the US Open qualifier @ The Bears Club, Jupiter, Florida.
The local Aggregate supplier and Earthmoving Company, Earthline Ltd based at Wroughton have helped fund his attempt to break into the big time and gain a place at the US Open by sponsoring his trip. Earthline Manager, Austin Lillywhite said, ‘This is a great opportunity for Jake in his quest to turn professional and make a career out of his passion. It is hard to break into the elite level and expensive to get there, by sponsoring Jake we hope that this will help him achieve his goal and become the next Tiger Woods.’
The US Open is due to be held at Torrey Pines in San Diego between 17th – 20th June. Let’s hope to we see Jake Bolton from Swindon teeing off alongside the likes of Justin Rose!
