Bicester’s yearly celebration of all things cycling attracted 300 visitors last weekend. A2Dominion’s 2016 annual Bike Day took place on July 24, at the field behind Bicester Leisure Centre.
ADVERTISING inRead invented by Teads Activities included a Tour de Bicester treasure hunt style family ride around town where 130 participants collected answers from yellow jerseys along the route.
Once ‘home’ they completed a Bicester themed cycling quiz and claimed their medals, presented to them on a podium made from recycled pallets. More than 200 cyclists completed a 65-mile or 100-mile route and Bicester Millennium Cycle Club (BMCC) also organised its cyclo-cross event. The course included a new wooden bicycle track with various twists and turns.
Other activities included a climbing wall, a penalty shoot-out, a ladies Breeze ride and a Watt bike challenge. There were also 10 new beginner riders doing a five-mile loop of the town while Earthline promoted cycle road safety.
